BRANCHBURG RC COLLECTS BICYCLES FOR PEDALS FOR PROGRESS
Submitted by PDG Tulsi Maharjan (trmaharjan@gmail.com)

On Saturday October 2nd the Rotary Club of Branchburg collected used bicycles, helmets and accessories for the non-profit organization Pedals for Progress.  The bikes will be shipped as-is to charitable partners in Guatemala.
These collected bikes give new life by redistributing them as tools of empowerment in global communities. Since its inception in 1992, Pedals of Progress volunteers, staff, partners, and supporters have collected and distributed more than 100,000 bicycles across the globe. Over one hundred thousand people have been empowered to access resources and opportunities that otherwise could have been out of reach – reducing waste, lessening pollution, and improving health in the process.
