On October 9 we held our fall blood drive and collected 49 units of blood. We actively promote the event on our website and Facebook page, and with posters and roadside signs around the community. Rotarians and Interact members help to manage the canteen, serving drinks and snacks to donors. Our next drive will be in April.
On October 23 we started work on a cabin ramp repair project at Camp Merry Heart. The camp is the beneficiary of our District Grant for the current Rotary year. We will be finishing up this repair this month and will be doing additional projects in the spring.
On October 24 we participated in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s. Our team raised over $3,000 in support of a cause that impacts far too many of us.
On October 31 we will be sponsoring the Blairstown Halloween Parade and costume contest for the kids. Our club has sponsored this small-town event for many years, missing last year due to Covid. Everyone is looking forward to its return.
